When in our city one refers to the food and the places where it is offered, it is difficult, if not impossible, for the mind of any well-meaning connoisseur not to mention the name of "Chryso Pagoni".

Turning backwards, somewhere there in the mid-50s, in the corner of Poland Street then, Prince Nikolaou Street later, Al. Svolou 42 today with the Ippodromiou Square, a restaurant with the distinctive title "Chryso Pagoni" began to operate, which was destined in time to become a signature (of its kind for our city).

And when the students of those years, who came from other parts of the country, come to visit our city for various reasons, they justifiably feel moved by telling their children (current students) that here in the same place, several years ago, when they too were students, they had their first appointment, perhaps with their mother.

Of course, the emotion does not prevent them from noticing the adaptations to modern needs, such as the excellent service, the wide variety of well-cooked food (Greek cuisine), the excellent cleanliness, the understanding and smiling staff, while the trademark is the chicken on a spit, which, like the rest of the meats, is grilled.

We, its current officials, with great respect and a sense of responsibility towards its long history, are doing something that is appreciated as necessary for the preservation of its well-earned and hard-earned good reputation.

It is up to you to decide whether we can be considered worthy successors.
